Thanks, Tee, we're fine - a few extra people had to go to hospital with respiratory problems, but otherwise the fires are more of a danger to more people now! Ah, the joys of an Australian summer...

Hi,
I think Bella hit the nail on the head.. Scrapbooking was a few years ago - mostly about preserving the memories of events, people etc., not such a personal diary of sorts like our beautiful arty farty journals we are seeing more and more of today... ahh I love them so much. That said, I love everything arty farty, papery, journally, scrapbooky and I love inventing words.... and love your ' liberate' terminology too :)
Ok, I came to visit you to see what you had been up to, and also to say a big thank you for visiting my blog and reminding me that my blog is about ME.. lol, yep it seems the general consensus is that I keep it with a mix of everything... and I guess it's mine and so is my business life, my art life, my ups & downs - so thank you - you are right about the 'connecting' - I too, visit more blogs that I feel connected to the person - after all it's more 'real' :)
(hugs)
xoxo

Hmmm, good point there. Not a whole lotta difference, is there. Perhaps scrapbooking commemorates events, while art journals focus primarily on thought???

Excellent page, by the way! Your words are definitely integral to your art. Good luck in that dust storm. I've been reading about, and it looks just awful. :(

Nooooo.

Don't go near a Cricut. Get a Robocut or similar, that you can just plug into your computer. The Cricuts are limited to their $$$$$$$$ cartridges.

I love scrap booking tools and materials as well, just not for traditional scrap booking! 8-))))

I think the difference between liberated scrapping (love that term) and art journaling is only like that between a traditional hand pieced quilt and an art quilt. Same components, different outcomes.

Cutting vinyl on a plotter makes teh AWESOME and cheap 'rub ons'.....

Love from dusty old Canberra, where Ekersleys suck and Pepe's rulz.
