Caity has sewing-machines because TeaBot 5000™ got all the guitars.

Constance J Woodle has a collection of foam-filled tennis balls.

KitTern collects Z's, generally in the sun.

Kirsty, would it upset you to know I have TWO featherweights? One is American, I must get around to looking into having it converted...she's called Betty; The other is a Sottish made girl, she's Elspeth. (I spent so much time with her she had to have a name!)

And are they fabulous? Well - um - YES! The attachments are awesome (Singer make the best rufffler/pleater I have seen) and the stitches are beautifully formed. I used to use my FW a lot when I was making small dolls and very miniature quilts - it can make from 6 to 30 stitches to the inch.

And even though it's straight stitch only, it's one of my favourite machines to use. It even smells nice! And of course it's so portable - I don't move the Goddess Pfaffalina unless she's going for a service, and most of the other machines are too heavy for me to even lift at present, let alone carry...

I also have an Elna Grasshopper (the very first machine Elna ever made) as well as assorted old Singers... and a few other Elnas (but not a Lotus yet - although I think I'll be trading for one soon maybe!) plus a couple of treadles (one my Grandmother's, one my Great Grandmother's.)

Not sure how many fabric shops I'll see, since it's right over the Christmas/New Year period when everything is shut. But no sewing machine for 18 sleeps - arrrggggh!

Did you say something Caity? I'm sorry. All I heard was the word "featherweight". HOLY COW!! You have a featherweight??!
Is it wonderful? Is it everything I dream it would be?
