Caity,
I am so sorry to hear about your pain. But because I think that we are separated twins, let me just give this opinion. I have problems with my left hip. Terrible pains. I finally went to my doctor who diagnosed it as bursitis of the hip. He subscribed some kind of pain medication and told me no exercise of any kind until it got better. That was not a problem back then because exercise was a dirty four-letter word to me. Since then, over 2 years now, I have lost 30 lbs and started exercising. What makes my hip feel better? Yep, exercise! Go figure. But it is the type of exercise. Treadmill and elliptical (especially the ellipitical) help me to be pain free. The stationary bicycle brings on the pain worse than ever. So, if you are exercising, what kind are you doing? It could make your hip pain worse. When I skip the exercise for more than 5 days I can feel it in my hip.
Hope this helps you. I am not a doctor and don't want to diagnosis your problems, but I can definitely feel your pain. Also I sleep with a pillow between my knees. It elevates my legs to be even with my hips and alleviates the pain. This is way too much information, but if it helps you with your pain, then I don't mind sharing.
