Chriss, no, I don’t remember ever seeing you in a skirt - and I bet you’ve never seen ME In one before, either! (In fact, I wore one to the Gardam’s opening, but before that it would have been… ummmm … my friend Maria’s gallery opening last ….August? LOL!)

But now I have THE SHOES, I’m more inclined to try skirts again! Heavens - I may even work up to…. a DRESS!!! Probably that divine one I posted about before… swooon!

Linda, I just bought some fold-over elastic - I was thinking the same thing! That, or just a very minimal waistband casing (none of those granny elastic waists, *shudder*) or perhaps even serged clear elastic (especially since the new Threads arrived yesterday with Christine Jonson’s article on that - yippee!)

Wow, a doppelganger - how cool to find each other! I like your blonde hair much better than my rapidly greying style, though!

Caity, I love how you can see these patterns all made up and looking terrific. And you stick at it! Love that little flippy skirt ( have you ever seen me in a skirt?) Can’t wait to see these made up and on you , you are looking a million dollars.

I am so sorry your skirt didn’t work out for you. You might try an elastic waist that will shrink with you.

I was struck by your photo. I have the same face shape, the same glasses (although I wear contacts most of the time) and had the same hair style until I got it cut shorter a week ago. And the same figure too just about. It was so fascinating that I just had to share. I hope this doesn’t creep you out and feel free to delete this comment if you want. I was just fascinated by the near twin I have down under!

Ta, Marcie - I know, I’m so excited!! Especially since it’s not only too big to sit where that pattern says (”one inch down from natural waist”) but it’s just about too big for my bloated tum (PCOS/endometriosis - yuk) as well! LOVE THAT!!

I will confess that it did actually go in the bin, very briefly this evening - but then I decided I had the new shoes and dammit, I was going to make this skirt!
