Catsmum- I think I shall use the Japanese cotton as my "inspiration" piece, yes? I'm thinking a storyboard where darling little cheongsam/asymmetrical tops have just a scattering of (embroidered or appliquéd) elements featured in the print... and are mostly solids in those sort of toning rusts/mustards/browns, with perhaps some more Japanese-inspired ikat weave (or print look alike) pants and skirts.

I think it has definite potential as a bag... sadly I only bought 2 metres, nowhere near enough for a skirt for someone of my proportions!

I think I'm going to have to dye some fabric to get the colours I want, though....

I'm in love with all asymmetrical crossover tops but seriously kiddo I don't know that the large autumn print is doing you any favours - skirt or pants yes but not a top.
Bags are good too :]

Marcie, I'm in love with the colours - I'm going to find a way to make it work somewhere in my wardrobe - maybe as bags, or even hats, LOL!

Chriss, I do a lot of talking and looking and not so much sewing right now... that will change...

Sue, I keep looking at it and thinking "it was a mistake - no it wasn't - yes it was - no it wasn't...!" Never mind, it WILL get used. Maybe it just needs to "mature" in the stash for a little while is all...

I still like the fabric but you need to be really comfortable with the choice - if you are not sure , leave it for awhile... lots of other lovely things you could do with it..

A great review of the show Catie, you even make ME want to sew clothes! Yes, I understand you r query on the material, yes, maybe a bit blocky even thou it is sooo yummy. Maybe something with a smaller print not quite so square, a bit looser in design perhaps?? But we don't want boring either so go with your gut!!!
See you soon.

No, hon, don't use it for a top, you're right, too blocky - maybe a skirt? Great colours though
